Learn a new skill

There’s a wide range of classes on offer, giving you the opportunity to learn something new, or develop a skill you already have. Why not try photography or an IT class?

Learn for enjoyment

Learning with other people is good for you! Many learners report increased confidence and wellbeing as a result of taking part.

Become more knowledgeable

Find out more about things that interest you, whether that is counselling, breadmaking or internet safety.

Learn about Shetland's traditions and culture.

Take part in one of our classes in:

  • Fair Isle Knitting
  • Traditional Lace Knitting

Improve your health

Get active at a yoga class, or maybe you would rather chill out at a meditation class. Taking part in learning can make you feel better about yourself.

Get creative

Equality and Diversity

Adult Learning aims to provide learning opportunities for adult learners irrespective of age, ethnic origin, gender, religion or sexuality.  We are committed to challenging and preventing discrimination and to respecting and valuing diversity.

We work within the Disability Discrimination Act and do our best to make reasonable adjustment by locating courses in buildings that provide disabled access and facilities that meet a range of needs.

We are always keen to hear from you about your experience of learning.  Has learning made a difference to your life?  Is there anything we can do to improve your experience?
