A Worker Improves His Number Skills

Learner 'C' referred himself to Adult Learning because he was having difficulty with his number and writing skills at work. He felt embarrassed about his skills and asked to work with a tutor and not in a group. A volunteer tutor worked with him to improve his numeracy. When he first came to Adult Learning, his supervisor checked his work all the time. This no longer happens. Reading and simple maths at work are now a lot easier. He feels his basic adding and subtracting have also improved, as have his computer skills. His confidence in many aspects of life has improved.

'C' would als like to continue to improve his skills and gain Numeracy and Communication qualifications.
