A Young Mothers Continuing Journey

'B' left school aged 16 with few qualifications. She was generally disengaged and was referred to the Bridges Project (for young people in need of More Choices, More Chances). While attending Bridges, 'B' took part in everyday literacies skills with Adult Learning but continued to misuse alcohol and became pregnant. On completion of her year at Bridges, she opted to continue at Adult Learning.

'B' learned a lot of new skills through planning and carrying out a film project. Working as part of a group she volunteered to present the film to a range of audiences, composed an introduction and took an active role in discussion about the film's messages and content at showings of the film.

'B' is now engages in a teenage mums group supported by Youth Services. She has quite smoking and binge drinking.
