'Your Folk' Garland

'Your Folk' Garland

This is a workshop to create a ‘Your Folk’ Garland, inspired by the traditions of hand knitting from the Nordic countries Gilly has travelled in. From a simple template you can create a string of paper folk depicting characters meaningful to you. The template can be used as a guide, but, variations of any sort are possible, where ever your imagination takes you.

A fun and easily achievable project for all abilities.

You will need to have thought about who you might want to depict and have some source pictures for ideas to work from.

You will need the following materials (please do not purchase until your place on the class has been confirmed):

  • Watercolour paper 140lb
  • Water-colour paints and/or coloured pencils/pens
  • Scalpel knife and cutting mat and or scissors
  • Hole punch
  • String
  • Pencil and rubber
  • Source pictures/photos
