She had avoided numbers her whole life after struggling with maths at school. Anne remembers feeling sick in class every time she was asked to give answers out loud to maths questions.
“I’ve struggled with numbers since school but managed to get by somehow. It was when I didn’t know how to help my bairns with their homework, that I realised I needed to do something. It took me about a week to pluck up the courage, but I phoned Adult Learning. I’m so glad I did. They made it all seem so easy. I met with a tutor for about six weeks. I feel a lot more confident with numbers now and it feels so good to be able help my bairns with their homework too.”
