Nature Connection Support Session

Ref: 3716

Course Cancelled

Do you care for someone who could benefit from connecting to nature?  I invite you to let me show you some nature connection activities to share and practice with your ‘cared for person’, providing an opportunity to boost mental wellbeing and physical health.  We will take a moment to slow down, to notice, hear and learn from the natural world around us. This takes some practice but once we get into the habit of consciously connecting with nature on a regular basis we begin to reap the scientifically proven rewards.

I will share ideas for folk with mobility issues, mental health issues, neuro-diverse individuals and those who are largely indoors for a variety of reasons.  Small changes can make big differences. Let’s explore and see if we can find some inspiration from nature!

We will meet at Islesburgh Community Centre and then head outside, so dress appropriately for weather on the day.  Wear comfortable shoes, and a warm, waterproof jacket, hat and gloves if it's cold.  It is a good idea to bring a backpack with a bottle of water or a flask of tea/coffee and you can keep your belongings in there if not wearing them.  Part of this session will be indoors, with the full session adapted and moved indoors if the weather is considered too poor on the day.

This class is free of charge as it is funded by Scottish Government’s ‘Community Based Adult Learning Recovery Fund’ which aims to help improve engagement of adult learners in community-based learning opportunities.
