Basic Introduction to Counselling

Suitable for beginners and professionals. This course will give you a broad introduction to counselling, with a basic overview of the 3 main approaches used in this country.  You will have the opportunity to learn about basic listening, communication and counselling skills, and the personal qualities which underpin them. You will practice these skills, reflect on your own process and share this with group members and the tutor. If you are thinking about working in counselling, care or in a support role then this course will provide an opportunity to develop personal qualities which could help you. Bring a notepad and pen. Please note that you must attend the first session.
