ESOL Celebration 2011

 

Another evening of celebration! More than 80 people gathered to mark the achievements of students learning English for speakers of other languages at the Town Hall on 3 October 2011. Professor Gray of Shetland College presented certificates to over 60 learners from Adult Learning and the College.

A highlight of the evening was performances from learners and tutors. These included juggling and songs from Nepal, Morocco, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Hungary. Students, their families and friends shared food from their own countries to complete a very happy evening. See more on the video.

 An evening of celebration! Around 80 learners received certificates to mark their achievements in the previous year for learning English. We were also treated to a mixture of readings and performances in various languages and a variety of foods from many different countries. All in all a very successful evening!

Mental Shetland

"Changing Scenes" is a unique employability programme using film making and the arts as a 'hook' to motivate people who are currently workless to move towards employment. The Shetland group's film can be viewed here:

Options
